A hostname is a human-readable DNS name associated with an internet service. Forward DNS resolves a hostname to one or more IP addresses; reverse DNS checks whether an IP address has a configured pointer name. These records can change and are not identity verification.
Find an address for a hostname
This site does not resolve arbitrary hostnames or provide a forward-DNS query form. Use a trusted DNS utility appropriate to your operating system, and only query systems you are authorized to investigate.
Find a reported name for an IP
The public IP lookup may display a reverse hostname when its data provider supplies one. A hostname can be absent, generic, or unrelated to a specific person.
