Reverse DNS (rDNS) maps an IP address to a DNS name through a pointer record. Network operators configure these records for operational purposes, and many addresses have no reverse name.
What a reverse lookup can show
A returned hostname may hint at a provider, server role, or network naming convention. It does not prove who controls a system or what content it hosts, and a missing record is common.
Look up a public address
Enter an address in the IP lookup tool. A hostname is included when the lookup provider reports one. This theme does not provide a separate custom DNS query interface.
